Black Butte 2012

Rafting rocks. Seriously - SO much fun! The boys were so adventurous - riding the bull (aka riding on the tippy front of the raft and hanging onto the ropes), paddling us through rapids and even jumping off of a 15+ foot rock into the water! (That one almost killed mom to watch!)

You can see everyone except for the little guy in these photos. Matthew is up front between Mike and Paul...having ten thousand gallons of water dumped on his head over every rapid...

Here's a calmer spot, where you can see the little one, too. Could anyones smile be any bigger? :)

Once we finished our day on the Deschutes, we headed back to Black Butte Ranch for our annual summer trip. We had lots of pool time, roller blading, bike riding and relaxing on the deck. There's nothing like the smell of Ponderosa Pines (once the forest fire smoke let up a bit on our second day).

These cutie boys were outside almost all day, every day. Great way to cap off the summer!

Playing chicken with Uncle Paul. Car vs. bike/blades. Hmmm...

We celebrated Andrew's 9th birthday (again!) with Amy's delicious peach cobbler and some fun camping gifts for the boy...

Golf course soccer is becoming a tradition, as we stay on a home right near the course - when the golfers go home for the evening, the boys run out and play until the bats come out!

It was so lovely to have time to spend together in such a relaxing environment. Black Butte Ranch has a special place in my heart, since visiting our family's cabin as a little girl. I love sharing the tradition with my kids now. (If only I could get us back into that same cabin someday!)
